During the hearing of a case at tho Magistrate’s Court yesterday, in which the possession of a piano was one of the principal matters in dispute, the Magistrate, Mr Wyvern Wilson. S.M., ex' pressed the opinion that probablj' music from pianos was not appreciated in Scotland, because they had so much better music. He added that perhaps pianos were like violins, appreciating in value as they grew older, this remark arising out of a statement by one of the witnesses that a piano bought twenty-five yeaus ago for twenty-five guineas was to-day worth £SO. “What make is this piano ?” counsel asked or the witness. “ It’s a London and Liverpool,” replied the witness. “Sounds more . like an insurance company than a piauo,” commented the Magistrate, amid laughter.
