AMONGST THE CANINES. (By ‘‘GREYHOUND.’’) Mr« George Lewis’s Pom bitch Avonor Marigold, has a family of five orange sable puppies by Avonor Desert Gold. They are a very even lot, and look most promising. Mr G. Osborne, of Addington, has purchased Woolston Scotia, a nice young Airedale bitch by Ck. Wairiki Warrior, ex Brook aide Lady. His old bitch, Addington Dart, has been mated to Mr T. Gibson’s Alisa’s Warrior. While in Christchurch; Mr Sam Grabtree visited the Avonor Kennels, and with a view t<? keeping her Poms up to their usual high standard, Mrs George Lewis commissioned Mr Crabtree to secure in England a first-class show and stud dog. A brood bitch is also to be sent out as soon as the embargo is lifted. Mr T. Wilkinson, of St Albans, has mated his Pomeranian bitches. Abberley Gipsy and Abberlev Flossie to his own dog, Admiral Beatty. Gipsy is by Avonor Coogee, and Flossie by Ribblesdale Gold Spec.

311‘s George Len-is, of the Aronor Pomeranian kennels. was \‘el‘y success—ful at both Dunedin and \Vellington with her home‘bred bitch, \Veybridge Theda. At Dunedin, Theda. won the special for best toy in the show, while at ‘Vellington slre took both the best Porn and best toy prizes in the show. Tn addition she won t~he-‘ladie§’ class. toy bracelet. and variety toy class. Theda was placed second in the Grand Challenge Stake, and finished up by winning the cup for the best non-sporting dog or bitch. This makes the sixth successive win of the non—sporting cup that Mrs Lewis has scored at \Vellington. . The committee of the Canterbury Kennel Club met last \Vednesday evening. The sub-committee appointed to revise the schedule reported that they had struck out the classes in which there was no competition, and put in a few variety classes that are likely to draw big entries.
