Charges of having undertaken to tell fortunes, brought against Sarah Taylor Coventry, Harriet OouplancJ and Katherine Stanton, were read to-day for the second time in the Magistrate’s Court. Mr W. Cracroft Wilson, instructed by Mr W. F. Tracey, applied for an adjournment, as counsel were engaged in the Supreme Court. SeniorSergeant Kelly said that he would agree if an understanding were entered into that the defendants would not engage in “ fortune telling ” in the meantime. The cases were adjourned until Tuesday. Mr G. G. Denniston, who has been appointed secretary of the Canterbury Agricultural and Pastoral Association, is a son of Mr G. L- Denniston. Dunedin.
