The Empire Development Parliamentary Committee entertained the Dominion Premiers and Indian representatives at dinner at the House of Commons. Mr Winston Churchill, Secretary of State for the Colonies, welcoming tho guests, said that with unity the Empire would become a power which no other combination iit the world dare resist. “We must spread our soldiers and citizens as numerically as possible in the Dominion and thus facilitate a steady growth of inter-imperial sentiment. Tn tho common interest we must endeavour to buy in different parts of the Empire and cause a direct flow of trade and business enterprise into inter-imperial channels.
