With the exception of a little work done on the Ramona* there was no loading or discharging on the Lyttelton waterfront yesterday owing to heavy rain. Rain was nlso experienced at Wellington, Timaru and Dunedin. The Katoa will take in some 900 tons of general cargo «in<i produce fox Auckland, and leave this evening via Wellington. The Opua. from Tarakohe, with cement, is due to-morrow. She will leave the following day for Wellington. The Kanna was held up at Wellington yesterday through rain, and is not expected here until to-morrow. 'lThe Wakatu will be taken off the slip this morning. She ia not expected to leave Lyttelton for Kaikoura and Wellington until to-morrow evening. It ?b hoped to dispatch tho Kennedy for Wellington this evening. Tho Tarawera. is now expected on Friday from Dunedin, via Oamaru and Timaru, to load for Napier and Gisborne. Aa the result of grounding on <a reef in tho Chagos Group a few days ago the motor ship Elmaren has become a total loss. Advices to this effect have been received in Sydney from the owners. Little hope ia entertained of any oaxgo being salved with the exception of 150 bales of wool stowed in the after hold, as the ateamer Valdieri, which went to the assistance of the Elmaren, is fully loaded with wheat, and there’ is no light vessel in the vicinity at the moment. In addition to the freight mentioned the Klmaren had a consignment of wheat and barley.

INTERCOLONIAL SERVICE. The Manuka arrived at Wellington from Sydney yesterday morning after a fair passage. The vessel brought the following! passengers:—Saloon: Misses Baker, Bullanf.yno (2), Brown, Fraser (2), Grigg, Hadler, Lovelock, Spencer, Mesdames Barton (2), D’Ath and child, Grigg, Fitzgibbon, Lovelock, Marks, Mount-part, Pinckney, Pauling, Spencer, Slack, Turner. Thurston, Weir, Messrs Alexander. Barton. Rev Baxter, Coldham, Cherunuaky (8), Davies, Delamar, Fitzgibbon, Firth, Hoidsworfch, Hildebrand, Johnstone, Lawless, Lough. Monk, Ma-eon, Miller, M’Kenna, Musgrove, Worman, Robinson, Spencer, Shaw, Wiggins and Wilson; eighty-seven steerage. Included in her cargo are transhipments ex Hoygerveen, Karitane, Wakatipu, Besea, Ormonde, Suva, F.lmaver, Arawalta, Kanowna and Zealandia. The vessel leaves again for Sj'dney on Thursday.

The Wan aka is to load at Sydney and Newcastle this week for Bluff, Dunedin and Lyttelton. COAL AND TIMBER SUPPLIES. The Kahika is expected to leave on Friday for Greymouth, where she will load for N ipier and Gisborne. The Kokiri, with a load of timber from Greymouth, is due on Wednesday. Ihe Kakapo is duo to-morrow from Greymouth. with timber. The Kamona unloaded some of her timber yesterday afternoon, and should leave this evening for Westport. The Kaitoke should leave this evening for Sydney, taking with her general cargo. The Canopus sailed at noon yesterday for Westport. She was unable to complete her discharging yesterday, and took a small quantity of her cargo back with her. The Orepuki bavin* been delayed yesterday will not be dispatched for Greymouth until to-morrow. The Trevose was placed in the dock yeaterday morning for painting and cleaning. She may be refloated this evening, but it is more probable that she will not be taken out of dock until to-morrow. On coming cut she will have two days’ work to do unloading hardwood poles. SAN FRANCISCO SERVICE. The R.M.S. Marama is due at San Francisco at 10 o’clock to-morrow morning. OVERSEA SHIPPING. The Union Company's oil carrying steamer Oroweiti, built recently in England to carry supplies to the mail steamers engaged in the Vancouver and San Francisco services, sailed from the United Kingdom on May 27 for Tampico (Gull of Mexico). The Shaw. Savill and Albion liner Raranga, which left Wellington on April 20 for Home, arrived at London on June 11. The Port Victor is due at Wellington today from Wanganui to fill up for Homo. She is expected to sail from, hare about the end of the week for London. The Port Sydney is due at Wellington to-morrow from Napier to continue homeward loading. She is to complete loading in Australia. The New Zealand Shipping Company’s liner Shropshire will leave Wellington tomorrow afternoon for London. The Port Lincoln is exnected to leave New York cm June 25 with general cargo for Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton, Dunedin, Melbourne and Sydney. Hie Port Lyttelton will leave London early in July for Auckland, Napier and Welling^ Leitrim will leave Wellington tomorrow to complete homeward loading at Lyttelton. She will leave Lyttelton on June 21 for Liverpool. The Mahia. arrived at Wellington on Sunday morning from Picton. She will leave Wellington to-morrow for Napier, and will 6ail from there on Saturday for Louden. Tho Gallic will leave Timaru to-day fo»Lvttelton to fill up for Home.
