LOCAL INDUSTRIES.
A PROPOSED EXHIBITION. [Per Press Association.] WELLINGTON. June 13. It is . propos©d to hold an indust.ria.l exhibition in Wellington during the •coming session, when Parliament will deal with the tariff question. The object of the exhibition is to show wiiat. is actually taking place with regard to the development and improvement of the manufacturing industries or the Dominion. Air O. ,T. Ward, president of the Industrial Corporation of New Zealand, explained that what is aimed at is not. the usual exhibition of wares, but is was desired to tabulate tho industries that are established in the Dominion and bring them tinder the notice of the legislators. It was proposed, therefore, lo ask the industries of the Dominion to organise in order to show, not what particular manufacturers caD do, but what tho industry as a whole is doing. It was hoped that manufacturers’ associations throughout the Dominion would take this broad view.
