CANTERBURY ROWING CLUB.

ANNUAL. BALL. Unfortunately, the weather was uupropit«otiß last evening on the occasion of the annual hall of the Canterbury Rowing Club, but those who braved tho elements were amply rewarded, as the ball was in every' nay a most enjoyable one. The decorations were novel, ami singularly appropriate- Overhead was suspended a double-sculler, which has won several races for the club, and at intervals round the walls were grouped crossed sculls surmounted by a rudder, and a club cap. Draperies of scarlet and white —the colours ol' the club—were looped overhead and also draped the walls effectively, baskets of greenery adding a finishing touch. The permanent gallery, used for the purposes of a lounge and a supper room, was decorated. with chrysanthemums in various shades. The music, which was exceptionally good, was supplied by Miss Macdonald’s orchestra. The members of the committee, who so successfully organised 1 he ball, wore - .Messrs r. -T. Stewart, 11. 13.
