NOTICE TO MARINERS. The Marine Department advises that consequent on repairs having to be carried, out in connection with Jack's Point light, for u period of about ten days from Thursday, April 28, the light shown will be a. fixed one. SHIPPING NOTES. The Baden Powell left Wellington last evening for Lyttelton. She is due here tonight and should sail for Wellington again to-morrow. The Rama left Lyttelton last night for Wellington, whence she will proceed to the Chathams. The AVaikouaiti is due on Friday from Timaru t-. complete her loading for Auckland. She is expected to auil for Auckland on Friday. The Earn is due from Wellington to-mor-row, and should Bail on the return trip on Friday. The Opua, from Tarakohe with a full load of cement, was expected to leave that port last night for Lyttelton. She is due to-mor-row morning and should leave on Friday for Wellington. The Wanaka, from Timaru, is due tomorrow morning, and should sail the same evening for Napier and Gisborne. The Calm, from Dunedin, is due here to-morrow to load for Wanganui. COAL AND TIMBER SUPPLIES. The Joan Craig should have her cargo of hardwod discharged to-day, and after loading a quantity of general cargo sho will leave to-morrow for Creymouth, where she will load timber for Sydney. The Oreppki has been further delayed at .Greymouth through the congestion at that port. She is now due here on Saturday, and will sail on the following Wednesday. The Kaitangata is expected to leave to-day for Greymouth, where she will load for Sydney. The Kahika sailed for Wellington at noon yesterday, takin- with her part cf the cargo of 'coal which she brought from Greymouth. The Kahika will hunker the Marama to-mor-row at AVeiiington. The Poherua was unable to complete her discharging last evening, as expected, and is now timed to leave for AYestport at noon The collier Kajcapo was expected to leave Wellington yesterday for Greymouth, where she will load for Lyttelton. PERSONAL. Captain J. C. Barnett, of the Union Company’s service, returned from a visit to Sydney by the Moeraki on Monday. Captain R. A. Kelly is in command of the Tainui, which .arrived at Wellington on Monday from London. He has with him the following officers:—First, Mr A. Gordon; second. Mr F. G. Brookes; third, Mr F. W. The R.M.S. Makura. is due at Auckland on Friday next from Vancouver. She is to leave Auckland at noon on the following, Saturday for Sydney. Her next trip to Vancouver will bo made from Auckland on May 10. OVERSEA SHIPPING. The Sussex will leave Wellington to-day for Sydney. Tlie Tasmania, at present in Auckland, is due here after she visits Wellington. The vessel has West of England cargo on board. The Commonwealth and Dominion liner Port Macquarie, which left Gisborne last Thursday for London, via Australian ports, took the following cargo from New Zealand: —4370 bales wool, 1311 casks tallow, 6 casks pelts, 569 sacks peas, 2076 sacks casein. 2500 cases Glaxo, 400 cases preserved meats, and 7 cases general. A radio message received from the New Zealand Shipping Company’ s liner Remuera, eti route from London to New Zealand, states that she expects to arrive at Wellington on Friday morning. The Commonwealth and Dominion Line Bteaxne? Port Caroline is due at Wellington to-morrow from. Barry, with a cargo of Welsh coal for discharge at Wellington. The M&hana will leave Lyttelton to-day for Port Chalmers. She will return to Lyttelton to load, and will then go on to AVeiiington to complete loading. She is timed to aail from Wellington on May 10 for London, via Panama.
