AUSTRALIAN DEFEATED. [Pbr Press Association. ] DANNBVIRKE, March 3. Tha professional contest between J. Keenan, of Auckland (9st 91b) and Harry Holmes (9st slb), of Sydney, for a purse of £250 and expenses, was won by Keenan, who was declared the winner on points. A section of the audience showed their disapproval of the verdict. Amongst the amateur bouts was one between Maddox (Hastings), bantam champion of New Zealand, and Hudson (Hamilton). Both scaled Sst Blb. After a fine exhibition Maddox won on points.
