Hie Australian Press Association understands that the Shipping Federation is submitting proposals to the Maritime Board, representing all claves of maritime capital and labour, for a reduction of wages by from 15 to 25 per cent. Ihe National Maritime Board lias intimated to the Merchant Service Guild that the board wishes ro consider the- immediate reduction of 90s month !y in tlie pay of navigating engineering officers and the deak enginering staff, also the reduction of 110 s monthly in the catering departments, with the en(ne rpTjsion of tlie overtime conditions
