In a filial effort to obtain a vote upon the half a billion dollar Naval Bill recommended by tlio Naval Affairs Committee, the Senate took up a continuous, session. Senator Lodge asked tor prompt passage, stating that the United States intended to maintain a strong policy in the Pacific, and that the navy and army must not bo weakened. Senator Lodge made it. plain that he was not predicting anything so serious as war. but was oniy asking for a navy adequate to meet the needs | of the United States. NEW ADMINISTRATION.
