WEDDING.
HOLMES—LUCAS. The -wedding was celebrated at St John’s Church. Latimer Square. on .March 2, of Aliss Beatrice Lucas, third daughter of Air and Airs C. Lucas, Opawa, and Air Clarence Holmes, only SOTI of All and Airs A. Holmes (Christchurch). The officiating minister was tho Rev Cocks, and Aliss Ida Colins presided at the organ. The bride wore a. charming frock of soft ivory satin daintily embroidered in gold. Her beautiful hand-embroidered veil was held in place, by a circlet of small gold leaves, and she carried a bouquet of maidenhair fern and hothouse flowers. The only bridesmaid was Aliss Clarice Ambrose, Rangiora, who wore a dainty frock of powder blue and fawn georgette, and a. smart bat of black nan no velvet, and carried a bouquet of flowers in soft brown tones. The groomsman was Air R. Marker, Marlon. Tin* church was beautifully decorated by friends of the bride. After the icremonv n reception was held at tho residence of Air and Airs Lucas. Tho reception was held in a prettily decorated marquee. Airs Lucas received her guests in n smart black crepe dc chine -own and a small white toque. Mrs Holmes (mother of the bridegroom) wore a becoming frock of Copenhagen blue crepe dc chine, and a black e.nd gold hat. Among the niaiiv guests ''cere Canon and Airs "Hamilton.
