A PLEA POR ECONOMY. A complaint that the Hospital Board was being forced into extra expenditure against its will was made to-day by tho chairman of the board (Mr H. J. OLle.\). He -said That apart from the extra expense of carrying on the usual work new regulations made the hospital more expensive to run. Added holidays to the engineers and nursing staff meant added expense, and it was not to be expected that the hospital could he run 011 the same levy if new regulations were to he enforced. “ Get a bigger subsidy,” said Mr F. Ilorrell. The chairman said that it was not much good to. take money from one place and pay it to another. The y>eoplo had to pav in the long run.
