PICTON REGATTA. fPxu Press Association.’! PICTON, February 16. The championship regatta is being held in beautiful weather to-day. There is a slight north-westerly breeze. Results: Maiden Fours—Wellington 1, Picton 2. Poverty Bay 3. Blenheim and Wairau also started. Won by two lengths. Time—6min 49 2-ssec. The north-east breeze had increased before the Champion Fours was to be rowed, and after sheltering for a while under the Ice of Mabel Island, the crews returned to the sheds, the race being postponed till later in tho day: Junior Pairs—Wairau 1,. Poverty Lay 0, West End No. 13. Picton, Star and Wanganui also started. An exciting finish, tho placed crews finishing in a bunch. Time— Youths’ Fours Star 1, West End .2, Wairau 3. Also started —Blenheim, Poverty Lav and Picton. West End led. early, l ut Sta- rowed them down and won by a length. Time 6min 10 l-ssec.
