Clynes, leader of the Parliamentary Labour Party, on behalf of the party, lodged an amendment to tho Address, regretting that the King’s speech did not recognise the right ox genuine unemployed to work, or their adequate maintenance. Following the mover and seconder of the Address Mr Asquitli expressed satisfaction that the legislation foreshadowed covered a. comparative l small area, compared with speeches . • recent years. He welcomed the meeting of tV*' Allied Premiers and tho representative of Germany and Turkey in London, and desired to know the scope and purpose of the Conference.
