PIGEON FLYING.
Tho junior members of the Canterbury Flying Club recently flew off a race frora Sea-cliff. Twenty-eigHt birds were sent, divided among seven owners. The birds were liberated at 11.40 a.m., in good weather, and put up fast times, tho winner, Mr a! K 1 wood’s No. 60, flying the distance of 105 miles in 6hr 24min 2sec. Following are the velocities recorded:—A. El wood’s No. 60 1076 yards per min; J. Fisher’s No. 762* lOGdyds; A. Dalton’s No. 336, 1066vds; h’ Sellars’s No. 756, 1052yds; K. .lewis’s No’ 188. 1060yds; E. Young’s No. 733, lOOSvds; A. Corrigan’s No. 4, lG47yds.
