Trades Hal! officials announce that the stewards’ strike is drawing to a close. A meeting of stewards has been called for Monday, when a proposal from the Melbourne Trades Union Disputes Committee will be discussed. The Seamens TTnion lias officially an* jtounoed that it is prepared to man the tJiips on the conditions prevailing prior to T.re strike, as soon as the stewards have reached a settlement or have declared the strike off. The Transport Workers’ Federation, at Monday’s meeting, will submit a motion in favour of the stewards balloting on tho question of resumption.
