VARIETY IN CIGARETTE CASES FOR WOMEN.

Tastes differ as to which is the most beautiful new cigarette case among those to be seen at present (says an English writer). The rivals are the tortoise-shell, the ivory, the gold and the silver case, and all, in their way, are exquisite. The ivory case is a small one, made in the box shape to stand upon a table fitted with ivory-backed toilet accessories, or to carry in the handbag, which is completed by an ivory

” mouth ” and wrist bracelet. Jn this ease the: ivory may be enriched with diamonds, which sparkle brilliantly from their white background, taking the form of medallions, wreaths and hinges. The tortoise-shell rases, for example, which* are striped with gold, have diamond hinges and snaps, or there may be a centre cameo surrounded by precious stones. 'Hie box is quite small and when the lid is lifted a place for about six tiny cigarettes is shown and a narrow trough lor matches.
