The amount of civil fees paid in stamps during the quarter ended December 31 ia3t was £IO3B 7a, as against £469 13s paid during the , quarter ended December 31. 1919. It must. however, be taken into consideration that , this year’s total included fees paid on about- , 160 plaints issued on behalf of the Commissioner of Taxes, which did not come intd the re'urns of the other quarter mentioned. There is a noticeable increase in most of the 1920 quarter’s returns. The differences between the amounts men for and the amounts recovered are instructive.
