Air Alexander Alacdonald. a prominent Scot in London, recently sailed for New Zealand. One of the founders of tlio London Inverness-shire Association forty years ago. lie is eighty years of age, and lias l>een in London for fifty years. Retiring from business several years ago. be is now on his way to Wellington to stay with his daughter. The executive committee of the Inver-ness-shire Association entertained him to dinner on the ove of his departure, in a brief speech he told the gathering that- be had made a compact that if he did not like New Zealand ho would return to London. As his swan song Mr Macdonald sang his favourite, “Tlie March of the Cameron Men.”
