The “ Daily Express” states that it is not pa.rt ot the present -Govemment’s policy to separate the dominions from the Colonial Office, though the matter had been discussed, and at some future time the Jotmuions may be transferred to the Privy Council. The " Dailv Telegraph pays a tribute to Mr Churchill’s energy, originality and instinct ol statesmanship, though he has marlo mistakes. He is unlike.lv to adopt the old-fashioned attitude of aloofness, and he can be expected to follow in the «ootsteps ot Mr Joseph Chamberlain. The paper adds that the dominions are disposed only to deal with the. Prime Minister, but there still will be sufficient duties for the Colonial Minister. , , The “ Dailv Chronicle ’ states that Mr Churchill’s imagination, enthusiasm and energv will find scope in the colonies and mandated territories which need develonment. The post also affords Air Churchill an opportunity to display his interest in aviation as a fresh bksis of communication. The newspaper assumes that the dominions will be removed from the ken of the

The “ Morning Post.” on the other band, comments on the appointment as if the. dominions will be included in i* j Mr Churchill’s department, and says he lias a unique onporfunity, in view of the fully established nlaof the do- | minions as partners with Britain.
