SCHOOLS’ CHAMPIONSHIPS. The first of the Canterbury schoolgirls’ and schoolboys’ championships were held at the Tepid Baths this morning-, the 50yds boys’ and 25yds girls’ championships being l swum off. A particularly fine performance was put up by Hiss Alma 'Mather, of Sydenham School, in winning: the latter event in 15 3-sp>ec, which is 2 bettor than th« previous record. The first three girls and first and second hoys qualified for standard times. The following are the results : 25yds SCHOOLGIRLS. PROVINCIAL CHAM PIONSHIP. (Record 17 4-ssec.) Alma Mather (Sydenham) . ... 1 E'llie Hannan (East Christchurch) . . 2 Edna Edmonds (Woolston) . . . . :j Doreen Harrison (G.H.S.) also started. Won easily.
