DISTURBANCE AT CORK.

The disturbance at Cork began as the crowd was leaving a football match. From 4.30 p.m. armed police parties in motor-lorries were breaking up groups in the principal streets, and shortly before five rebels attacked Sergeant Mailiff and Constable Ryan. Thereupon. police reinforcements rushed up, riotous scenes and firing lasting for several hours. A customs’ officer named Pring was walking homeward with bis sister when he received a bullet in the bead and died instantly. Two women and four civilian men were among the wounded. (A previous message stated that Sergeant Mailiff and Constable Ryan, when returning to barracks after attending a football match m Cork, were shot and dangerously wounded by unknown assailants.)
