CANTERBURY CENTRE. The Canterbury Centre of the New Zealand Amateur Athletic Association met last evening; present—Messrs A L. Chappell (chairman). P M°nzies. 5. Cox. C.' S! M'Culiy, W Jj. Paterson. R. Wallace and Moss Ralbu (honorary secretary) . A lengthy discussion took place as to whether a South Island championship meeting should be held ir the Canterbury district this season. The chairman moved a motion to that effect, which was seconded by Mr Paterson, but as the voting was three all. the chairman decided to his casting vote agninet the proposal, which wag lost It was decided that the Canterbury championship meeting should be held on February 19, and the programme for the meeting It was decided that the trophies for the championship events should be gold medals.
