ROLL OF HONOUR.

UNVEILED AT EAST CHRISTCHURCH SCHOOL. Thero was only a very small attendance at tlie East Christchurch School to-day when a- Roll of Honour to commemorate those pumls of the school who served in the Great Kar was unveiled by Sir A. F. Drayton, a former chairman of the School Committee. Mr IS, Harvey, chairman of the School Committee, expressed disappointment at idle meagre attendance. That day, he said, would be n memorable one in the histor r of the school as it marked the unveiling of a Roll of Honour in memory (f those old boys wlm served in the Great War. Mr A. F. Draytton extended his sympathy to those who lost their boys in ihe war. Thos A - who bad gone rorth to fight for the Empire iiad shown true sincerity and- that they had been actuated by a high principle. Mr Drayton then unveiled the Roll uf Honour, a. handsome oak memorial board with, the names of some 160 exscholars of the school inscribed on it in gold lettering. ,Thc list is not vet complete, and_ will be- added to as the committee is informed of names omitted from the present list.

To-day’s river report states that the Opihi, 'Wait-aid, and both branches of the Waimakariri are clear, the Rangitata discoloure'd and the llakaia dirty.
