Regret that Mr Walter Hill had been very unwell during the past three davs was expressed bv Mr H. ,1. Otlev, who presided, in the absence, of Mr Hill, at last night’s meeting of.the Christchurch Drainage Board, Mr Otley added that Mr Hill was very much better and would probably he about again before long Mr T. Bullock, who has been chairman or directors of the Ashburton Gas Company since its inception forty-two years ago, resigned the offices of chairman and director at a meeting held on Monday. Mr Robert Bell, who has been acting-chairman since Mr Bullock’s recent indisposition, was appointed chairman. Mr Bell referred to Mr Bullock’s* long connection with the company, and moved that the. resignation he accepted with great regret. Other directors encloraoa Mr Bell’s r'cinarkSj and the 'motion was carried.
