Txjo encounter with Sinn Fein volunteers occurred near Eunismore. The authorities having learned that drilling was in progress, mobilised a fleet of motor lorries tilled with troops. Tho Sinn Feipers, though outnumbered, decided to resist arrest. Forty tvero captdred and placed on motor- lorries. An armoured oar assisted tho military. One account states that the coup was efiected by a police auxiliary corps consisting largely of ex-service men. ‘
