BELHIj September 18, There has been a. fight for possession of Tabriz, a centre of rebel activity in Persia. The newly-appointed Governor of Tabriz was not recognised by the Deniocrats. Sending- CoSsaoks into Tabriz to attack the Democrats, the HOw Governor remained outside the town. The Cossacks defeated the Democrats, wounding a hundred and killing fifty, including.a notorious sheik, who had been dictator of Tabriz since the spring. After, capturing the enemy's guns and ammunition the Cossacks took possession of-the town, which is reported to be quiet.
