Tho Saturday evening dances are still being held in the Art Gallery under the auspices of the Returned Soldiers’ Association, and Inst Saturday fynmd the Art Gallery well filled with dancers. At Wanganui on Tuesday last Mr 'Horace Belshaw,. elder son of Air and Mrs Belshaw, ot Hawarden, Worth Canterbury, was married to . Miss Marion M’Hardie, daughter of Mrs P. G. M’Hardie, of Gonville. On Thursday tho'Woolston Assembly held its' first/fancy dress ball. 'There was a large gathering and pretty display of fancy costumes and dresses. On September 23 the Christchurch High School, Old Boys’ Association is to Jiold a. ball at Addington, the preparations for which are in the hands of a. very capable committee, who are sparing no trouble to ensure its success.
