Sir Thomas Mackenzie, interviewed, said that ho did not contemplate any difficulties in the way of the renewal *of a satisfactory _ Anglo-,Tnpanese Treaty. Iho Imperial Conference would safeguard Australasia. 'Japan had too many troubles at homo to make troubles abroad. The Into Dr Morrison bad assured him that Japan had ample room for expansion in Formosa and Manchuria for a hundred years, therefore it was unnecessary for her to invade tho Pacific or Australasia.
