(Special to the " Star.'') IvAl KDUBA, September 1. Souvenir pocket wallets were presented lo Captain Dickson and Mr Moore at .jv meeting of tho Progress League, at Blenheim at nine o’clock. The aviator left Blenheim at 10.45 a.m., and had a most enthusiastic send-off. The Avro flew over Sodden at a height nt 200011. and the flag was dipped in honour of the visit. A height of oOOOiI was attained on jho coast, and a splendid trip was: made in brilliant sunshine. Many aerial photographs were taken on route, ami it is hoped that tho results will be as good as those of photographs over Blenheim. Tho Avro landed at Kaikoura. at 11 .-34- a.m., with Captain Dickson, Mr Mooro and .Mrs E. ,1. fLimbrick. of Blenheim. The aerial mail was delivered at Kaikoura. and the Christchurch portion will bo brought on on Monday, arriving at Bock burn at 11.30 a.m. At Picton on Friday Captain .Dickson had a civic reception. finer weather has been experienced on the trip south than was met with on the northern flight, and the time registered from Blenheim to Kaikoura was eleven minutes better than the Dip up. Tho actual times are ns I olio-,vs:—• Christchiirch-Kaikoura, out Unborn in. Kaikoura-Blenheim, out Jhr 30min home 1 hj r Dm in, Blenheim-Wellington, out Ihr lomin, homo lln- smm. On the return trip from Wellington to Blenheim the conditions were by no means favourable, and the Dominion Meteorologist (Mr 1). C. Bates) strongly urged Captain Dickson against making t he. trip on the “Saturday. 'Wellington was left at 3.2 d p.m.. and tho aviator, flying almost due west against a head wind, had a race against a. heavy cloud bank, which was approaching Blenheim from thejvcst. The Avro won, making substantially hotter time than on the northward trip. From the times registered on tho trip so far, it appears that Trentham is about sixty-five miles from Blenheim: and Blenheim some seventy-eight or eighty miles from Kaikoura. ' m
