NORTH BEACH NOTES.

[From Our Correspondent.] The fortnightly euchre and dance was held in the Surf Club' Pavilion on Saturday evening, the prizes for best euchre being won by Mrs Barker and Mr Masters, and the consolation prizes by Mrs M’Cracken an dMaster N. M’Gillivray. During the evening Highland dances were danced by Miss J.enn Al’Crackcn. Mr Arthur Duggan provided the music for dancing, Misses Marriott and M’Cracken supplying extras. Mr J. C. Alabaster will have good cause to remember the recent high tides at North Beach. Not knowing that the sandbank had been, scoured out at the end of Bowhill Hoad, Mr Alabaster, while walking there on the night ot August 10, foil heavily on to the hard beach, a distance of some nine feet. He was. badly shaken, and is still under medical care. A party of some thirty North Beach residents paid a surprise visit to Mrs W. Marriott, Park Road, on Wednesday evening, when a most enjoyable evening was spent in games, dancing, etc. Vocal items were contributed by Miss M. Marriott and Mcsrs W. Peppier and W. E. Leverett, and recitations bv Miss Irene Leaver and Master M. M’Gillivray. Air J. Suckling, who has been ill for some weeks past, is now convalescent, and has removed to the city. Air and Mrs W. Vaughan’, of North Beach, gave a children’s danco in the Surf Club Pavilion on Thursday evening, ho room being specially decorated for tho occasion. Amongst those pres°ut were Misses Witliell (3), Chappie 12), James (2), Coleman. Hayward. Murphy. Smith, Kibblcwhitc. Lcckie, Simes. Clark. Duncan, Vaughan (21. Mr and Airs Allcway, Air and Airs Kibblewhite, Air and Airs Vamrhan, Alessrs Peese. Hall, Al’Pbersnn, Burns, Chappie (3). Vincent. Davis, Garrick, Hayward, Binney, Sinclair, Batchelor and Bourne. Supper was server! at tho residence of Air and Mrs Vaughan.
