Khalifat agitators have been busy lately on tho Indian frontier, and antiBritish propaganda, together with intrigues among frontier tribes, caused a serious outbreak at .Talgali, in the north-west provinces. Tho town was attacked by tribesmen, and a notorious agitator attempted to form a provisional government. A British column sob out from Peshawar, and although threatened by largo armed crowds, the ringleaders of the outbreak were brought to Peshawar. Tho Black Mountain tribes have now joined tho rebels, and military measures arc being taken. MURDER OF POLITICAL OFFICER. (Received September 3a, 12.45 p.m.) ■ DELHI, September 2. Captain Salmon, of the Devon Regiment, assistant political officer at Kifri, who was taken prisoner last week, has been murdered by tribesmen.
