At a meeting of the Canterbury centre or tho Net- Zealand Amateur Athletic Association last evening, a letter was received from the secretary ol the Aew Zealand Amateur Athletic Association stating that ChriWchutfh had been decided upon as tho place for holding tho IScw Zealand trots-country championship, and inquiring whether Christchurch could enter a team. Wellington and Dunedin'were sure of sending teams, but three centres must be represented before the event could take place. It was com-idefed that Christchurch could raise a team without difficulty, and it was decided that the championship should be held 0 a August !?S. The secretary was inettjictod • to notify all secretaries of clubs of tho date of the championship, and to ask them to send nominations tor the team. Messrs C. S. Thomas, C. S. M’Cully and W. -Paterson were do iced selectors of the representative team, and the former was deputed to arrange trial runs.
