MEMORIAL TO BRAVE DEAD

The “Daily Express” announces that a magnificent building, a stone’s throw from the House of Commons, which wag intended for a Government Department, will he converted into' a practical memorial of the brave dead. It will be called “ fli_p King's House,” a vast bureau where ex-service men can obtain advice on any conceivable matter, together with financial assistance. Originally a wealthy man intended to establish such a memorial out of gratitude for the fact that his onlv son passed unscathed through the war. The hoy, however, died of pneumonia aboaid a. transport homeward bound, and the father W'as so severely shaken that he never completed the legal formalities. Others, notably ■women’s orgauisatxons, then took up the- idea.
