| ...f'- • • |This afternoon a tennis tonrnament was in $T " at Elmwood, the residence of their •V Excellencies the Governor-General and the V- pountesa of Liverpool. A number of onlookers were invited. Keen interest was diaplayed in the games. Tea was served from a marquee on the lawn, the tables being p charmingly arranged with pink and purple if asters. Their Excellencies received the guests at the entrance to the courts. Those ' present included Dr and Mrs Thacker, Sir Heaton and Lady Rhodes, Ur and Mrs A. E. G. Rhodes, Mr and Mrs H. F. Wigram, Lady Ward, Mr' and Mrs George . Rhodes, Mr and MrsG. H. Holmore, Mr and - Mrs Norton Francis, Mr and Mrs R.
