IMPROVED REGULATIONS.

THE MAYOR’S INTENTIONS.

Mr H. M’lntosh, city traflic inspector, lias submitted a report: to tho Major on improved means of regulating street traffic 'in the citv ami suburbs. Ho states that the streets are capable of carrying a much greater trathc than they cany at present. He suggests that rules of the road and other subjects connected with traffic should ho taught in schools, and stales that much can he done hv haviim marks in streets directing traffic, and marks snowing where there are crossings for pedestrians. He suggests that, atraffic increases, all classes of it should be brought- under c,no control, and that Hie City Connell should appoint a separalo cominittci to deal with traffic licenses and by-laws.
