A CHILD’S DEATH. [Pkr Press Association.) AUCKLAND, ‘February 3. At the Supremo Court Constanoo Elizabeth Parsonage was charged with the manslaughter of her infant child, who was drowned,in a creek at Pokeno! Tho evidence showed that the home M as destroyed by lire.' A few davs later the woman and her child were found in the creek, the child being drowned. The woman’s mind was affected, probably by tho fire. She did nob realise what she had .done. A verdict Mas retimed of not guilty, on tho ground that the woman was insane at the timo the act was committed. She was acquitted, but was ordered to remain in custody.
