MOTOR-BOAT RACING.
Great interest was taken this afternoon in tho motor boat racing at Lyttelton, for launches not exceeding -a speed of six knots, over the 9.1 knot course. There were nine starters, the event was a sealed handicap. Results: —L. Sinclair, 40sev. 1; P. Waroham, scr, 2. Won by Imln 50scc. Winner’s time llir 28inin 34eec. FINAL FOR ROWLAND TROPHY. The final race for tho Rowland trophy was held by the Brighton Power Boat Club today. Results:— Taumuru ..... 1 Ngairo 2 Sylavus ...... 3 Time—23min. The other contestants finished in the following order;— Halcyon. Rata, F.nckrra, Knquirer, Mischief. A slight mishap spoiled Mischiefs chances of winning.
