NEW ZEALAND CRICKET COUNCIL. Tho Management Committee of the New Zeeland Cricket Council met last evening. Mr P. 0. Raphael presided, and there were also present—Messrs J. S. Barrctt. E. B. Co,v ffill. W. H. Winsor, S. P. Wilson, I). Reese and J. P. Peeke (hon. secretary). A cablegram was received from tho manager of the A.I.P, team stating that, owing to tho programme arranged for tho team in Australia, it would bo unable to make the Now Zeeland trip. ,It was reported that efforts Iml' been made, through Messrs iH. Trumblo end M. A. Noble, to arrange for a visit from a Melbourne or New South Wales team, but that both gentlemen had replied that it was impassible to do 30. In view of tho lateness of ihe ec-aaon and the fact that a heavy programme of matches hod been arranged in Australia* it was decided to do nothing further in the mutter.

Further correspondence with regard to affiliation was read from the South Canterbury Association, which stated that, having re-considered the matter, it found it impossible to affiliate. The South Canterbury Association also stated that it had arranged a match at Christmas against North Canterbury, and naked for information in regard to the position in view of its non-affiliation.

It was decided to raise no objection to the match, but the opinion was goner all v expressed that affiliated associations should not be allowed to play against uunffiliated associations; and Messrs Raphael. A match was played at Eanglora on Thursday between the High School and Vest. Christchurch District High School teams, the visitors winning by ton wickets.
