TO-DAY’S SITTINGS. CHRISTCHURCH. Mr S. E. M’Carthy, S.M., presided over today's sitting of the Magmtrato’s Court. DRUNKENNESS. A first offender wr«. Sued os, in default twenty-four hours’ imprisonment. You’d better give up the drink. Accused was fined £2 and costs on the charge of procuring liquor while prohibited, and was ordered to pay the amount of the damage done. On the charge of drunkenness he was convicted and discharged. DRUNKENNESS AND OBSCENE LANGUAGE. Thomas Scoilard, aged twenty-two, and Thomas George Joy, aged twentythree, pleaded guilty to charges of drunkenness in Cashel Street and of having used obscene language. ! Day, S.M.) | CLAIM UPHELD. Arthur Perham (Air J. A. Beattie) claimed from Robert N. Wickham the sum of £3 16s Sd for forty-six hours’ 1 work done in laying a concrete path at defendant’s residence, Sydenham. rim defence was that tho work had not been done in a proper workmanlike manner and the concrete had all broken up immediately after it had been laid. Ihe Magistrate held that the claim had been proved and gave judgment for the plaintiff for the amount claimed with costs.
