> SALE OF WORK. A very successful and well-arranged sale of work was held yesterday in St James's Schoolroom, at Lower 'Riccarlon, the proceeds of which arc to go towards the vicarage funds. The vicar, tiio Bcv G. \V. Christian, explained the object of (lit: fete, and apologised for the absence ot Airs Boyle, who was to have opened the sale, hut who was unable to attend. However, Airs Boyle had sent a cheque which, as the Rev G. AS. Christian said, was the next best thing, ’I lie sale was formally declared open by Mrs A. E. Luttrell, president of the St James's Ladies' Guild. 'Flu; stalls were well stocked, and the articles lor sale marked at remarkably low prices. The stallholders wore:-—Produce, Mrs A, E. Luttrell and Airs Ricketts; sweets. Miss A. Reynolds; fancy needlework, Aliss S'chmidt and Aliss Evans; toys, the Idris' Guild, in charge of Alias .Reynolds: ice-cream and soft drinks, AJasters LI Christian and B. AVyles; plain needlework, Mrs _ Lummis. Airs E. Evans, Airs F. Bailey and Airs Ricketts ; flowers, Airs Young and Miss Ricketts; Christmas-tree, Aliss Freda Harris, AlisS Downing and Aliss Nelson. The refreshments were in charge of Mrs Cnristian, who was assisted by a numbor of parishioners. In the evening a concert was given. The bazaar will be open this afternoon and evening.
