Returned soldiers should know that senior appointments are bv selection, and not by seniority/ for whichwehnve to be extremely thankfpL rins being the case, it is quite easy to understand the present position. On this occasion the Selection Committee may have taken into consideration tho services rendered in the N.Z.EF bv nil the officers referred to, which ‘ wo„ make the decision easier still. Regard., mg the most excellent Commission on Defence Expenditure, advertising ways pays-—someone. There are many matters of far more importance to tho general public and to Dr Thacker than this one.
