The Railway AVages Board, a new body set up last session, is to sit iu Wellington as soon as arrangements can be made. The board' is to bo constituted of representatives of the Department and representatives of the railway societies, with Mr Justice Stringer, President of the Arbitration Court, as chairman. Up till the present only the A.S-lt.S. among the societies has appointed a representative to sit on the board. It is understood that Mr Justice Stringer will bo prepared to deal with railway matters so soon as the present sittings of the Arbitration Court in Wellington are over, and it is, therefore, a matter of some importance that the other representatives from the service should bo appointed without delay.
