ESTABLISHES ANOTHER RECORD Now York to Chicago, 1012 milei "Hap" Scherer, mounted on the same little Sport Model on which he established the Three Flag Record for a medium weight machine ( which record still stands for a motor of this size), made the New York-Chicago run, August 26 and 27, in the remarkable time of 31 hours 24 minutes. This is 10 hours 56 minute* faster tha« any previous motor cycle recoid, and is the fastest time on record hy any motor vehicle between these cities. Scherer made the entire trip without mechanical trouble of any kind. When he left New York his tool box was sealed and the. seal was unbroken at the finish. There was not even an adjustment made. New York to Chicago in 31 hours 24 minutes on a motor of but 35.64 cu, in. piston displacement, is a record to be proud of indeed.
