The "New York World’s” Paris correspondent interviewed Marshal Poch, who said:—"l think it is superfluous to talk about the League of Nations I and the protection it assures Prance. ■lt is only a scheme at present—we have not yet put it into practice. How can a League which does not exist ' protect France? The League is a great expectation. It is hot a fact. Resides the League would be able to maintain peace only if wo exacted a stern, complete of its terms. The idea of revenge is in the minds of all Germans. We cannbt remain unarmed with such a Germany facing Us. Germany was neither crushed nor dismembered, and will start war again when she is ready.” „
