NOT AN ALIEN.
SINGAPORE YOUTH CHARGED. EP*b Press Association.] WELLINGTON, September 29. A youth named Ernest Vantell was charged at the Magistrate’s Court that being an alien he had landed in New Zealand without a permit. VanteU, who was horn in Singapore, arrived at Auckland on the ship Alberaania. Ho left the ship there, and applied for a permit to join another vessel. He got a berth on the liner Opawa, whose captain wanted him back. The hoy declared that he deserted tho ship at Auckland because ho could not live with the crew. The Magistrate said there was no evidence to show that the youth was an alien, and dismissed the charge.
