DEPUTATION TO POfITMASTERGENEILVL. [Pm Press Association.] "WELLINGTON, September 29. A deputation from the Post and Telegraph Officers’ Association waited on tiie Hon J. G. Coates, PostmasterGeneral, to-day, on tho subject of a continuance of tho war bonus and the general question of salaries in relation to the cost of living, also on the matter of compulsory retirement- The deputation further asked for full right of appeal- The Minister said that Sir Joseph W T ard, when in charge of the Department, had undoubtedly made a promise. He (the Kon J. G. Coates' would do what he could to put it into operation. He could not see why the staff should not have the right of appeal, but he could not give them a definite answer yet- H© promised to give the requests careful consideration, and was anvious to do what he could to remove the cause of grievance.
