Alleging that Japan is violating a “ gentlemen’s agreement ” in reference to the admission of Japanese to the United States, the representatives of Washington Stale *tod _ California urged the House Immigration Committee to adoptthe Australian policy' of complete exclusion. If further admissions are allowed the Pacific coast will become a Japanese province. The question was Purely economic, not racial.
