There is no prospect of any reduction in Australian freights. The"shipowners point out that British ships .chartered for any other part of tbe world earn an equivalent to 25s per ton per month, whereas the earnings of vessels engaged in the Australian trade are 15s. At present the Australian freights are she lowest in the overseas trade in tho world.
